COMIC STIP:
"Jonas entered the Annex room and realized immediately that it was a day when he would be sent away. The Giver was rigid in his chair, his face in his hands. I´ll come back tomorrow, sir, he said quickly. Then he hesitated. Unless maybe there´s something I can do to help"
This quote on page 118 made me think a lot about Jonas and his way of being. Jonas could've just go away but Jonas Isn't like that.... Jonas always tries to help people like the giver for example. Jonas is a really good kid and he always thinks for the best of the community. Those type of things make you have a good life when you grow up.
You might find my tittle a little confusing and for me it is confusing too but I'll try to explain it as good as I can. As you may had seen in the previous chapters, Jonas was given the memory of warfare and that was really painful for Jonas because he wasn't used to does things and he felted a lot of pain and that's part of the tittle when it says "Pain is Inevitable" . I think Jonas is really strong because he have been given this memories that are really painful and I also think that Jonas is very perseverant because he doesn't gives up on the memories even the painful ones. That's when we come to the part of "Suffering is Optional" because he can simply give up and not want to get more painful memories but that's not he's choice......

Chori, I'm strongly agree with your argument about Jonas being strong and not giving up on the memories he received, and I think Jonas has overcome the memories even though some are really painful to be overcome. I also really liked how you connected the text "Pain is inevitable. Suffering id optional" ,with the book.
